Maintenance: Less visible, but essential for safety and reliability

Over the past few weeks, OHIS Industrie has carried out an unusually high number of maintenance interventions across Belgium. Although maintenance work does not always produce impressive pictures, it remains one of the most critical factors in ensuring safe, compliant and reliable lifting operations.

Why maintenance matters

Cranes, jib cranes, hoists and ergonomic lifting equipment operate under heavy daily loads. Regular and professional maintenance helps to:

  • prevent unexpected downtime,
  • extend equipment lifetime,
  • reduce the risk of failures and accidents,
  • ensure that installations are ready for mandatory inspections.

For our customers, this means uninterrupted production and peace of mind.

Our technicians at work

In recent weeks, our teams have been performing:

  • lubrication, adjustments and checks of trolleys and drive units,
  • testing of safety devices (limit switches, overload protectors…),
  • inspection of wire ropes, chains and brakes,
  • preparation for periodic inspections by accredited organisations,
  • urgent interventions to prevent production stops.

Strong impact, even without photos

Maintenance may not always be visually attractive, but its results definitely are:

  • increased reliability,
  • reduced risks,
  • lower total cost of ownership thanks to fewer unexpected repairs.
